it has been quite the christmas break.

sunday was so fun, carly came and took me to the airport
and on the extremely long flight to LA i read all of Nicholas Sparks' book Dear John
the movie comes out sometime next year and looks so good.
i loved the book, but in true Nicholas Sparks fashion, it was a bit sad and i might have cried...
on the plane...

then a layover and the red-eye to Baltimore.
i came home and didnt even sleep!
went to breakfast and shopping with mommy
then red robin with Sommer and Chris and afterward got my hair done!
i got it colored and cut :] i love it and everyone says it looks good
then hung out with Mitch, saw a ton of people, and went to Joe's house to watch a movie.

finally went to bed at about 2am haha
i'm extremely exhausted but my first day back was awesome and today should be even better!

its been a weird couple of days and its really strange but i just feel nervous about everything for no reason. its like a weird funk thing, and finals week doesnt help with that.

i cant even describe how much effort it takes to form sentences.
i sat in class staring at a worksheet reading it over and over again because i literally could not figure out what the individual words meant.
it wasnt even that i didnt know the answer, i straight up had no idea what the words said.

i have had to sit and plan out every single day of the next week and half
THREE SEPARATE TIMES
and i still dont understand what my schedule is gonna be like.

its a really good thing my roomie and i have youtbe parties and share enjoyment like this with each other. cheered me up real quick.

the bike has been found! im sooooo freakin happy.
yesterday i went to mililani with joey and mitch to see new moon and go to walmart to buy a new bike and right before we went into the movie my roommate called and told me that she saw some guy riding my bike, had security follow him, and was proceeding to walk home with it. it was awesome.

new moon however, just as terrible as i expected.
we were so excited for the movie to end.

one thing though ive noticed, amanda seyfried has like a million movies coming out.
ok maybe just two right now,
but this one looks amazing
(nicholas sparks is my favorite author so i always love the movies)

so literally i am terrible at keeping up this blog, but im going to try harder.
alot has been going on and i've had an awesome time the past month or so. i'm kinda working backwards but i wanted to post some pictures and what not and just give a basic play-by-play of what i've been up to :]

tomorrow i'm meeting with my academic advisor to declare my major! i will officially be an english education major and possibly a theater minor


but anyway, last friday night steph, becca, bree, melissa, and i had a sleepover that turned into a pretty epic night full of awesome people and fun.
we went on a really chill bike ride. we all have cruisers so it feels like we're in the movie now and then every time we go on bike rides. for some reason we call ourselves the wolf pack :]
we had to make a stop at the dorms for a little bit because it started raining
back at the house, we had bought fake stick-on mustaches from foodland. they pretty much made the night.
ok, here's a picture from halloween. i was dressed as bon qui qui but i didnt have my nametag on in this. i had ridiculous lipliner and earrings and crazy long nails though ha. so its me, sharisse dressed as velma, becca as a peacock, and jansen as a biker chick. we went into waikiki to walk the strip on halloween night and had an amazing time.

the night before halloween my roommates and i hosted a dance party. a ton of people showed up and a bunch more were on the way but unfortunately the police got called and came to clear everyone out. it was a total bummer but at the same time i feel really excited that i can say my party was busted by the cops haha

i've been spending most of my time with my roommate carly and a few other friends like alex and his friend tanner who lives on the big island and visited for about three weeks. this is when he lied and told us it was his birthday and we baked cupcakes and a special heart cupcake with tons of salt to get back at him
we spend alot of time over at alex's house and they have to coolest painting on their wall. we were all hanging out one night and alex just started taking pictures of us goofing off
THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. friday, october 16th, aka the best and most epic night of my life, i went to see the LMFAO concert with becca and brea. we were in the front the whole time and they came and talked to us, brea got to go on stage, and they recognized us and asked us to come to the after party with them when we went backstage to get my poster signed. they were a little drunk, but sooooo nice. i still cannot believe that i got my poster signed, got to meet them, and hug them, and they invited us to ride with them to the afterparty.

dad was here on business last week so he came and got mitchell and me for the weekend.
we went to hanauma bay and the bishop museum and i got a bike! yay! haha
it was a really great weekend :]

so far my classes are really cool and i'm surprised at how much i enjoy them.
ok so this post is kinda just a bunch of random stuff cuz i haven't made a post in a little while...
so here's what i've been up to:

went to turtle bay with steph and becca on thursday to swim and hottub and we met up with steph's friend that lives in a villa there, it was way fun
yesterday tried to go see a movie but missed it so just walked around the mall with steph and bree
and last night went to see so you think you can sing which was actually kinda fun, and then becca and i walked to foodland to get snacks and rent a movie and went to my house and just hung out. it was so nice to just do something simple, i'm so happy to be back. five months was way too long to go without seeing any of the people here.
i talked to tina this morning and i cannot wait until she comes back out. and also our conversation made me realize i really miss fall. like the leaves and everything smelling like pumkins and cool weather. fall is the best.

but anyway...

i no longer live in hau'ula. its a ridiculously long and complicated story but basically i got a girl to buy my contract so that i could move into a house across from hukilau beach called casa de chicas.
i'm so excited to be closer to campus.
and turns out..... i live in the same house as stephanie!! yay!!
we arent roommates but she lives on the other side of the house.
and the rent is cheaper!
i havent even been here three hours and i already feel so at home, i'm so happy i cant even describe it.


so basically i'm in a terrific mood.

well, it has finally happened, i'm back in hawaii :]

its so great to be back, and im really excited for classes to start.
im living in hau'ula which is a five minute drive from campus in a really really nice apartment with four other girls. i'll put up pictures and more details soon.
unfortunately, even though the house is so pretty and perfect, its just too far away so im looking for a house around campus to move for winter semester.

i havent really done anything yet, just the beach once and i went to the pcc for a while with friends today but im mostly just settling in.


so good to be back though :]

oh facebook chat, i hate you. i really do.
every time i get on facebook i make the unwise choice of deciding to look and see who's online. this is done with the intention of just a quick glance to see if there is anyone of enormous interest for me to talk to, which is highly unlikely. i don't enjoy using this stupid chat so i don't really understand why i go online at all in the first place. but this habit isn't the problem, the problem is that every time i do sign on for just a quick second, i will be moving toward going offline when some random person starts talking to me. meaning people i never make contact with over the phone let alone even in person. it is always so awkward and uncomfortable.
curse you facebook chat! i cant stop signing on!


on the bright side, i started my job last week and although it is extremely tiring, it pays well, its simple, and the people are pretty enjoyable.

and on the extra bright side, i went shopping with mom yesterday and bought happy things from american eagle.

things i have noticed lately:
i have very bad posture.
i dont enjoy dairy products, including ice cream.
i can never get my feet the perfect temperature.
when i notice that the temperature of my feet is off, my whole body feels funny.
i love post-its.
the eyelashes on my left eye look shorter than my right, no matter what.

watching movies, especially in the theater.
going on walks.
interior design and aesthetics.
planning events and details of various occasions.
school supplies.
taking pictures of everything; brooke is rubbing off on me.

truth or dare

its been a pretty good weekend all in all,
had a sleepover friday, a birthday party saturday, dad came home sunday and then i went to my friends house and everyone from church was there and we played truth or dare on the trampoline...?
very weird and very memorable. there were definitely some moments that were not my most proud.
it was actually really fun though, i hadnt played truth or dare in forever and it seemed pretty juvenile the whole time but we were laughing so much and had a really good time with it

its my last week of freedom before the job starts :[
i'm hoping to go to the carnival and hershey park

i never had allergies in hawaii. ever. and i wasn't around any dogs or cats so that wasn't a problem.
but here, is a whole different story. i am very sick.im pretty sure i've used like a lifetime worth of tissues in the past few weeks. and my right eye has this perpetual watery leakage thing goin on. not fun.

but other than that, drumroll please, its official, i now have a job. im so excited to just finally have one and start getting paid. as far as what job, i really dont even know haha. its like stocking grocery stores or something and i have to go to work at these ridiculous hours in the morning and the stores are all over the state. but all i need to know is that its $10.74 an hour. thats what matters.

back in westminster

wow i didn't realize its been so long since i've posted something.
ok, so things that have happened since my last post:
1. flying home with dad
2. new york city with katie
3. seeing the musical at my old high school
4. job-hunting
5. boredom

numbers four and five happen quite frequently.
but new york city was an absolute ton of fun, katie put all the pictures on facebook i believe. i definitely want to have a trip like that every summer, it was so great.
well, as of right now, my life consists of searching everywhere for a job that will hire me. i had interviews at american eagle and pacsun which were my first choices but i didnt get it because of the whole summer job thing.i did have an interview today though at this place called maggie's which is like a straight up pub. they said they would probably overlook the summer thing though so i've got my fingers crossed.
so i'm gonna try to keep updating this on a more regular basis with just fun day to day details and what not, but im not very good at it. hopefully i can make it interesting.

the ala moana

so i'm living in the ala moana hotel until saturday when dad is done with his business trip.
its 4:00pm on monday.
i cannot explain the boredom.

surreal.

today i checked out of my hale, not gonna lie it kinda sucked.
these past few weeks have been so strange. it does not feel like im going home at all. mostly im in denial i think
i used to be so excited to go home for the summer but now i would much rather stay.
BUT, katie and i are going to new york city as soon as i get home and i cant wait! its going to be fabulous :]

its a sad day my friend.

well its that time again.
finals week.
except not real finals week because they cut it out and now we just take our finals in class and continue to attend classes until the very last day.
another difference from last semester's finals week:
this is not christmas break.
this is five months.
this is the last time i will see a good number of my closest friends.

needless to say, i'm a little bit of a mess. i didnt expect to be this sad, and in reality, i'm not excited to come home at all.

2009!

Ok wow so I haven't posted anything in I don't even know how long. But a lot has been happening this semester so I figured I would go ahead and fill everyone in. Meaning all two people that read this. So in no particular order of time or importance here are the highlights of my life this semester.

Earlier in the semester I was in the school play. We put on Seussical the musical. The show itself is so ridiculous but one of the most fun shows I have ever been in. The plot is basically a combination of a ton of Dr. Seuss books and follows Horton the elephant from finding the speck of dust with the Who people on it and his efforts to save them. I was cast s a jungle citizen/ circus animal and I had a horrific pink and purple costume. The assistant director decided I looked like a flamingo and so we had a good time coming up with my makeup for the show. I got a ton of compliments on it from the directors, cast members, and all my friends who came to see it. We had amazing turnouts and the Friday and Saturday night performances were both sold out. People were offering to pay twenty dollars for the originally two dollar tickets and asking everyone they knew if they could sneak them in to see the show.









Last weekend I got to go to Pipeline Cafe and see The All-American Rejects! It was my first concert and it was completely insane but so much fun. I got knocked down four times but at one point I was second from the front so it was absolutely worth it. It was quite an adventure of cars breaking down in tunnels and police being completely unhelpful to get us there but we made it and it was amazing. Tyson Ritter was clearly on ecstasy or something very similar but they are great performers and surprisingly good live.






So on April 18th I fly home until mid-September and I have no desire to stay in the dorms next year so my friend Sharisse and I have been looking for a house. We found a house in Hau'ula that is about a ten minute drive from campus, but she will have a car as soon as she gets back so I'm not too worried about the drive. The house is so nice and big! We absolutely love the house so yesterday I signed my contract and made a deposit :]






Well, for my Education 212 class, I have to complete a ten-hour practicum observing an helping a teacher at either Laie Elementary or Kahuku High. Since I want to be a high school English and/or Drama teacher, obviously I went for Kahuku. It took a million years to actually get started, but yesterday I had my first day and it was so much fun. I went in for my first class and the teacher is really nice. She introduced me to her class and told them I am a student at BYUH and this one girl in the very back of the class blurted out "She's in college?? I thought she was like grade 11!" Yeah. It was awesome. I'm really not surprised though, there are probably seniors at the school older than I am. After her English class i stayed for her Intermediate Drama class and that was my favorite part. The kids were so much fun.


And yeah, those are pretty much the only somewhat exciting things that have happened. I'm gonna work on posting more stuff here, so hopefully you'll be hearing from me soon :]
